The Building Process
STEP 1
The first step is to pour your foundation. Simply follow the foundation plans we provide for your home, to install the foundation properly. Ours homes can be installed on any type of foundation be it a solid slab, full/walkout basement, a crawlspace, or even a pier & beam stilt foundation.
STEP 2
Once your foundation is complete, install the Silent Floor® TJI Sub-floor joists or Open Webbed Floor Trusses included with our home kits.
STEP 3
Next, SIP wall panels are installed (usually completed in about 6-8 hours with a crew of about 3-4 people for our standard 2,000 Sq Ft Bungalow model). Wall panels are easy to install as each 4'x 8' x 6 1/2" panel weighs only 125 lbs.
STEP 4
Panels fit together almost like an adult Lego system with 3"x 5 1/2" thermal splines placed in between each panel.
STEP 5
If door & window openings are not pre-cut for you, special tools are always provided for easy installation. You do so by using the Prazi Beam Cutting tool, see "About our kits" page.
STEP 6
Foam is scooped out of window openings easily using an electric hot-wire foam cutting tool see "About our kits" page.
STEP 7
2x6 Lumber is then placed within the recess to provide a frame for your window and doors. All custom shapes and sizes can be accommodated. *Necessary 2x6 framing lumber is included with every kit see "About our kits" page.
STEP 8
After walls are put in place, the roof system is installed.
STEP 9
SIS Inc. provides SIP materials for the complete roof system for any design. As an alternative a Clear Span Engineered Truss system with a 12" raised Energy Heel for additional insulation, can be provided at the clients' request.
STEP 10
The house is complete, and you can use any type of exterior finish. Vinyl or Aluminum siding, brick, stucco, wood or log siding, anything you would like in order to achieve the perfect look for you dream home!
